System Rack for 4U CompactPCI Boards
4U, 19" CompactPCI Rack, 8 Slots P1-P2 Bus
With the CR4-RACK, EKF introduces a 19-inch rack, which is suitable to accommodate
up to eight single-size Eurocard (3U) CompactPCI®
boards. Due to the 1U fan unit,
which is equipped with reliable low noise fans for an optimum air-flow, the
overall height of the system is 4U.

The CR4-1-RACK is a universal solution for industrial grade standard applications.
Provided with a removable power supply, floppy disk, hard disk and DVD-ROM drives,
the rack is well suited for any 3U CompactPCI CPU boards.
|
The CR4-2-RACK is equipped with an economical ATX style power supply,
and does not provide mass-storage devices. It is therefore suitable for 3U CPU boards and
mezzanine side cards,
which already contain a hard disk.
|
|
Since the BIOS of the EKF CPU boards allows
for remote boot across the networking
interface, the CR4-2-RACK is also a good
choice for disk-less solutions, resulting in
reliable systems for rugged environments.
|
The CR4-3-RACK provides a rear I/O backplane
(other features identical to CR4-1-RACK). Therefore this rack is suited for
CompactPCI CPU cards with rear I/O capacity, e.g.
CC9-SAMBA.
With a depth of only 280mm the CR4-X-RACK is suitable for both, either cabinet
mounting, or as a stand-alone computer.

The system-slot is
situated right-most on the CPCI backplane,
thus allowing use of CPU modules with
larger (non-standard) front-panels up to
12HP without losing the neighbouring slot.
Located to the left, another 7 slots are
completely available for adapter boards.
Available as an option is a desktop case
(CR4-9) for table-top applications (see similar
image below).
